A NEW ERA OF LEADING WITH LOVE, TRUST AND DIGNITY
A NEW ERA OF LEADING WITH LOVE, TRUST AND DIGNITY
We didn’t just build a training method.
We built a philosophy — one that honors how dogs (and humans) learn, feel, and connect.
Most training programs start with sit. Stay. Down. And those things matter — but they’re not the foundation. They’re the furniture.
Before a dog can learn reliably, before they can perform in a busy parking lot or a crowded vet waiting room, they need something that most training never addresses: emotional safety.
A dog who doesn’t feel safe can’t learn. A dog who is flooded, reactive, or shut down is not being stubborn — they’re being a mammal. Their nervous system is doing exactly what it was designed to do.
At Go Anywhere Dog®, we start where the science says to start. With the dog in front of us. With how they actually work.
Every Go Anywhere Dog® is built on the same foundation — two pillars — one earned layer. It doesn’t matter if your dog is 8 weeks old or 8 years old. The method doesn’t change. The pace does.
This is the non-negotiable. Before we teach a single behavior, we establish that training is a safe place. No pain. No intimidation. No unpredictability.
When a dog feels safe, their nervous system can settle. When their nervous system settles, they can actually take in new information. This isn’t philosophy — it’s how mammalian brains work. Dr. Bruce Perry’s research on neurosequential development and Dr. Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory both point to the same truth: safety is not a soft concept. It is a biological prerequisite for learning.
We protect emotional safety at every level — from the first Puppy & Me class through CGC preparation. It is the ground everything else is built on.
Every dog has big feelings. Joy, frustration, excitement, fear — they feel all of it, and they feel it loudly. The goal isn’t to eliminate those feelings. The goal is to teach dogs what to do with them.
Emotional regulation is a learned skill — in dogs just as in humans. Through consistent, clear, positive reinforcement training, dogs learn that they can encounter something exciting or scary and still make a good choice. That squirrel appears and instead of lunging — they check in. That stranger approaches and instead of spinning out — they breathe.
This is the work that makes everything else possible.
Skills are how dogs navigate. A solid Touch, a reliable Stay, a By My Side that holds through a crowded farmers market — these aren’t tricks. They’re a communication system between you and your dog.
We build skills in a specific sequence, with intention. We start with behaviors that create connection and confidence. We proof those behaviors across the Three D’s — Distractions, Distance, and Duration — until they hold not just at home, but everywhere. Because a skill that only works in your kitchen isn’t a skill. It’s a rehearsal.
So every place feels like home.
In dog training, the word “tools” gets used a lot. Prong collars. E-collars. Choke chains. Tools that work through pain and fear.
That’s not what we mean.
Our consequence layer is earned — meaning it only enters the picture after emotional safety is established, emotional regulation is being developed, and the dog genuinely understands what’s being asked of them. Only then does losing access to something good become fair, meaningful feedback.
No pain. No fear. Just losing the good stuff.
That’s a very different tool.
A Go Anywhere Dog® isn’t a perfectly obedient robot. They’re a confident, regulated, connected animal who knows how to be in the world.
They can sit at a brewery patio while strangers walk by. They can hold a Down-Stay at the vet. They can come when called — even when something far more interesting just appeared. They can go anywhere. Because they’ve been built to.
Go Anywhere Dog’s trusted team of certified dog trainers have helped thousands of pups across Minneapolis, Eden Prairie and nearby suburbs become calm, confident companions. With over a decade of experience and a passion for science-based training, we’ve got your back—paws down.
